Key responsibilities for this position include:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for commercial activities.
- Develop and implement robust financial models to analyze profitability, cost structures, and commercial investment returns.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports, highlighting key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor and report on sales performance, trade spending, and other key commercial KPIs.
- Track profitability by product, channel, and customer segment to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to evaluate the financial impact of promotional activities, pricing, and discount strategies.
Business Partnering & Decision Support
- Act as a strategic partner to the commercial teams, providing financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives.
- Present financial insights to senior leadership and recommend actions to achieve revenue and profit targets.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and tools that provide actionable insights into commercial performance.
Cost Control & Process Optimization
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the commercial function to improve overall efficiency.
- Analyze costs related to raw materials, production, and logistics to optimize profitability in the supply chain.
- Continuously seek process improvements within financial controls and reporting mechanisms to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Market & Competitor Analysis
- Conduct in-depth market, competitor, and trend analysis to inform strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor actions, providing insights to the commercial team.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor commercial risks and implement measures to mitigate financial exposure.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain financial control standards.
Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. MBA or professional certification (CFA, CIMA, or CPA) is a plus.
- +5 years of experience in a finance or controlling role, ideally in the FMCG, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of FMCG, pricing, and profitability drivers.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management.
