Ideal Candidate
The candidate will work closely with local and regional management teams and assist in the supervision of outside counsel. It is essential to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills to enable them to work with all levels of management and negotiate with external clients.
Prioritization skills are also important given the likelihood of dealing with multiple international projects at any one time.
As the sole counsel, the candidate will also need to be able to work autonomously.
The ideal candidate will have around 7 years of experience in legal affairs, in particular in employment, commercial, privacy and online areas. The candidate should be fluent in English, knowledge of French or any other language will be a plus.
Job Description
The legal department is involved in managing all aspects of legal work on behalf of the local and regional companies of the company in a variety of corporate initiatives as necessary from time to time. We are looking to recruit the local lead lawyer / legal counsel.
The key legal matters and/or areas of work encountered will vary but primarily include:
- Employment matters
- Commercial law, contract drafting and negotiation
- Dealing with the legal and data protection aspects
- Online legislative aspects:
- data protection compliance
- privacy policies
- alignment of legal requirements to operational constraint
- Intellectual property protection and licensing
- Corporate filings.
The candidate will report to the General Counsel of EMEA based in Paris. For privacy matters, the candidate will work under the supervision of Global Chief Data Protection Officer based in the UK. The candidate will be based in Romania.
